Reviews Policy
Chequered Past collects customer reviews to help future buyers make informed decisions and to improve our service. This policy explains how we handle reviews, in line with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
How we collect them
After we deliver a vehicle history check, we email the customer once to invite honest feedback. We invite every customer who receives one, not a selected few, and we ask for their genuine view, good or bad.
We send that invitation through Trustpilot's invitation service, which means Trustpilot receives a copy of the email and then sends you an invitation of its own. So you will hear from us once and from Trustpilot once. The copy Trustpilot receives carries your email address and the invitation itself, and nothing about your vehicle or your check.
No incentives
We don't pay for reviews or offer discounts, gifts, or any reward in exchange for one, and we never ask anyone to write a review that doesn't reflect their real experience.
We don't suppress or edit
We don't remove, hide, or alter genuine reviews because they're critical, and we don't cherry-pick only positive feedback. Reviews on Trustpilot and Google are hosted by those platforms and shown as their users leave them.
Genuine experiences only
We only invite people who have actually used our service. We never write reviews of our own service or ask anyone to post one that isn't based on a real experience.
Raising a concern
If you believe a review of our service is fake or misleading, or you'd like to amend or remove your own, email hello@chequeredpast.uk and we'll address it promptly. Reviews on Trustpilot and Google are also subject to those platforms' own reporting processes.
Opting out
Every review invitation has an unsubscribe link. Follow it, confirm on the page that opens, and we send you no further review emails. Your email client's own unsubscribe button does the same thing in a single step.
